You’re not broken—your nervous system adapted. Let’s help it feel safe again.
Hi. I'm Kristin.
I provide therapy for adults navigating anxiety, confidence issues, trauma, and the complexities of alternative relationships. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck—often carrying more than they let on.
I offer a nonjudgmental, affirming space for the LGBTQIA+ community, polyamorous, open, and kink-identified individuals and allies. Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate, focused on helping you understand your nervous system, heal from past experiences, and build greater safety, clarity, and self-trust. You are welcome here exactly as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions
I can usually handle my problems. Do I really need therapy?
You’ve survived by holding it together, pushing through, or telling yourself it’s “not that bad.”
Therapy gives you permission to be honest with how you feel without worrying about being too much. It is a place to say things out loud that you’ve never said because there was never a safe place for them to land. In therapy, your feelings are validated and together we can start to make sense of the weight you’ve been holding and ways to ease the load.
What is therapy like?
At its core, a therapy session is a protected 50 minutes where your inner world gets to be the focus. Most of the session is just conversation. You can talk about what’s been on your mind: something that happened, a feeling that keeps coming back, or a pattern you’ve noticed.
During this time, I may reflect back what I heard so you can hear yourself more clearly or ask questions when I notice connections or patterns you may have not yet seen. Some sessions may feel calm and conversational or even practical while others may feel more emotional.
Occasionally, something clicks and you leave feeling lighter or clearer. Other times, you leave feeling thoughtful or a little raw. All of that is normal. There’s no pressure to have a breakthrough every session. Progress often looks quiet and gradual.
How will therapy help me?
- Therapy is a tool to help you start to see why you react the way you do, where certain beliefs came from, and what patterns you keep repeating.
- Therapy can help you gain tools to handle stress, emotions, and challenges by learning how to pause, regulate emotions, and choose responses that serve you better.
- Therapy can help your relationships improve by better understanding your needs, boundaries, and communication patterns.
- Therapy can help you grow, make decisions, process change, and feel more grounded.
- Therapy doesn’t change people. Therapy gives people the space and the opportunity to find change if they want to do the work and look within themselves to explore new ways to approach life.
What happens in a consultation call?
A consultation call is a free, low-pressure conversation that lasts about 15 minutes. It is a way for both of us to see if we we would be a good fit. I will introduce myself to you and explain how therapy works. I’ll ask what brought you to reach out and listen to see if your needs fit my approach. It is also a time for you to ask any questions about therapy or my background as well. The goal is simply to see if you feel comfortable moving forward, with no obligation to commit.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes — therapy is confidential, and that confidentiality is taken very seriously.
What you share in therapy generally stays between us. I can’t share details with anyone else without your written permission, even from family members, employers, or partners.
There are a few specific, legally required exceptions that I will explain upfront: if there’s a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, if there’s abuse of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult, or if records are ordered by a court. Outside of those situations, your privacy is protected.
Do you take insurance?
I am an in-network provider for United Health Care, Emblem Health, Anthem, GHI, and NYS Empire (NYSHIP), but I can also provide a superbill for my out-of-network clients to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions. I am happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
